8/9/10 1:04am
I just had an amazing time with a girl that is already so special to me.  She is sweet, kind, smart, and very funny and beautiful.  Her name is Brittonlee.  I just met her a week ago.  Tonight was the first night we hung out with just us two.  We went downtown to Temple Squre.  It was so much fun.  She is so sweet.  We walked around and decided to sit on the lawn in front of the temple where we could talk and look at the temple as well.  In the middle of the conversation the sprinklers came on and got us soaking wet.  We ran out of there as fast as we could.  After that we found another spot to talk by the big mirror pond.  It was so peaceful talking to her while overlooking all the beautiful scenery.  While we were sitting there she said that what happened with the sprinklers is "something out of a movie."  I laughed beause I thought the same thing.  I told her we got "sprinkled on" and we both laughed after that.  After being at Temple Square for about an hour and a half we dicided it was time to go home.  We looked at a few more statues and then walked to the car.  After arriving back to her house I was walking her to the door and we looked up at the stars together and she thought she saw a shooting star.  She once again said that "this is like a movie."  I had an amazing time tonight.  I don't want to jinx anything but I think I may have found her.

I love this letter Jared wrote.  There are two more, but I kind of want to keep those just for Beckham.  Is that weird?

The Dreaded First Post

I've had a few blogs in the past and can I just say how much I hate the first blog post?  It's like going on an awkward first date.  Like a first date there's the silent pauses of when I don't know what to write that seem to take up an eternity, then when I start writing I kind of babble for a while till I realize I'm talking too much.  So short and sweet here's a tidbit about our bite-size family.

I am Britton-Lee Powers, 21 years old and a mom-to-be.  Sometimes I wonder if that's enough.  I wish I could say I have a nursing degree or I have solved some world problem but I haven't.  My life is pretty simple.  I have a wonderful husband whom I absolutely adore.  I have a sweet baby on  the way, due in November.  I love my life and wouldn't have it any other way.

My husband is Jared Powers.  He's a 27 year old Texas-born man and VERY handsome.  He's going to the University of Utah for a degree in communications with a desire to go to law school after.  I have to say I admire him for all that he does.  He's very busy with school and on top of that works to provide for our family.

We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and both have strong testimonies about it.  We love our church and it's the center of our lives.  It has taught us that we have a goal and purpose in life which we strive for each day.  (To learn a little more about it go to http://lds.org/?lang=eng).  We were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on December 18, 2010.  It was so beautiful... and cold!

We both have amazing families that we love so much.
My family- Mom, Dad, Austin, Houston and Trinity.  They're all so wonderful.  Dad (my hero!) is in Djibouti for a 1 year deployment so he'll be back in March of 2012.  Mom is such a strong beautiful woman who takes great care of her kids.  All of my siblings are so sweet and great people.

Jared's family- I love them all so much already.  Each of them are just great people who welcomed me to the family with open arms.  His parents are awesome and his siblings are so fun and great people.  I can't wait to see them again.  They all live in Texas, but hopefully we'll see them soon.

Now that you know a little about me and my family I'll end this "date" on that note :)
